AC Milan is experiencing a resurgence in European football. Bedore, the team experienced a tumultuous period marked by Silvio Berlusconi’s departure as owner and financial problems.

Last season’s Serie A champions and this season’s Champions League semi-finalists reached the last four of the face-offs by holding Napoli to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, thanks to Olivier Giroud’s amazing performance in the first half.

Goalkeeper Mike Maignan denied a late penalty from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Napoli’s standout winger. At the same time, Giroud also had a penalty kick saved before scoring. Milan beat the runaway Serie A leader 1-0 in the first leg, advancing on a 2-1 aggregate score.

“Everyone thought we were the underdogs, but we have a lot of heart, we put everything into this,” said Milan coach Stefano Pioli commenting after the match. Milan’s semi-final opponent will be either city rival Inter Milan or Benfica. Football fans are waiting for some amazing face-offs between the competitive teams.

Inter leads the Portuguese club 2-0 entering the second leg at the San Siro on Wednesday. In the night’s other match-up, Real Madrid eliminated Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Napoli can now focus on closing out its first Serie A title in more than 30 years, since Diego Maradona led the southern club to its only two Italian league championships in 1987 and 1990.
